Who we are

HistorAI is a Tel Aviv studio that brings together production and creative professionals with researchers, curators and historians. It was born from a single personal historical photograph, animated for a personal film — and a whole new world opened up to us. Since then, instead of generating science fiction and fantasy, we have immersed ourselves in history, out of a genuine love and passion for the field.

The new tools let us tell history on a scale that wasn't possible before. The old methods — research, sources, curators — make sure it's true.

In short

What is HistorAI?

A Tel Aviv studio creating AI-animated historical films, reconstructions and historical routes — for museums, cities, heritage sites and educational institutions.

Who is behind the studio?

Jonathan Pasternak, founder and creative director, and Alon Meshi, co-founder and lead animator — together with a team of content, branding and production people.

Who have we worked with?

Design Museum Holon, Yad Chaim Weizmann, Rishon LeZion Museum, Ben-Gurion House, Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, Herzliya Municipality and Sheba Medical Center.

How do we make sure the content is accurate?

Every project starts with source research. A historian, archaeologist or curator reviews the script and the final film, and signs off on both the content and the historical reconstructions.

Our commitment

Historical truth
is the heart of our work.

Anyone can generate an image — and that is the danger to history. A convincing image of a past that never happened is worse than no image at all.

  1. Research before framesNo frame is made before the sources have been gathered.
  2. Working with expertsHistorians, archaeologists and curators are partners from the start — not just approvers at the end.
  3. Sign-off before deliveryNothing leaves the studio without the approval of an expert, appointed by the client or by us.
  4. TransparencyWhat is documented is presented as such. Reconstruction is labeled Reconstruction, and illustration Visualization.
  5. Respect for real peopleWe never put words in their mouths they didn't say, or distort what they did.

We won't change a fact to make a scene more dramatic.

We won't add a detail that looks good but has no source.

We won't deliver anything the experts haven't approved.
